Israeli drone company UVision continues to record new achievements on the international stage. US company Mistral Inc. has announced that the Israeli-made UVision Hero 90 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been selected to participate in the US LASSO program, which deals with stealth and low-altitude attack capabilities. The US aim is to significantly upgrade the capabilities of American brigade-level units.

The main purpose of LASSO is to increase lethal anti-armor capabilities. The Israeli company has a variety of models in different weights, which have already earned a strong reputation around the world. The 30, 90 and 120 models are operated by combat soldiers in the field, while the heavier models, 400, 900 and 1,250, are launched from dedicated platforms.

The Hero 90 weighs 18 kilograms and carries a 3 kilogram warhead. Its range of operation is about 45 kilometers and the duration of operation is 40 minutes. It can be used from a launcher carried by maneuvering forces or from a launch platform mounted on armored vehicles, and is designed to hit armored vehicles, vehicles and stationary targets. The Hero series has a system that allows the remote operator to see what the loitering munition sees, through electro-optical and infrared cameras.

The operator can make minor course corrections to the drone, or decide that the mission is canceled, if for example innocent passers-by appear. The loitering munitions can also be launched at targets and can carry out the mission from start to finish themselves, or transfer operations to a soldier in the field to increase the coordination and efficiency of the forces.
